Achill Yawl Festival,

Fun for seafarers and landlubbers alike, the Achill Yawl Festival is an annual series of races involving Achill yawl sailing boats – traditional wooden boats with a solid hull and single mast. Taking place at various locations along Achill Sound, which connects Clew Bay with Blacksod Bay on the west coast of County Mayo, the five-week festival is a lively event with fun, games and events for young and old alike.

Car: Achill is located on the west coast of County Mayo and is only accessible by road. Achill is a four-hour drive from Dublin and from Shannon airport, or five to six hours from Belfast
