Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival,

Belfast, United Kingdom

30 Apr 2010 - 10 May 2010

People from all over the city converge in the vibrant Cathedral Quarter for this popular arts festival which lays on an exciting programme of events covering live music, theatre, art, comedy and a raft of family-friendly entertainment. The event embraces a very hands-on attitude and positively encourages audience participation through a wide range of workshops covering everything from drumming to digital filmmaking. With its alternative leanings, this festival is popular with less mainstream audiences and the city's large student population. First held in 2000, it proved such a success that it has been a regular fixture ever since and continues to attract big-name artists with past performers including Germaine Greer, Rob Newman and Bill Drummond.
