Held in association with Radio 3, the London Jazz Festival hosts 10 days of free jazz concerts at various venues around the capital ranging from the main Festival FreeStage in the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Barbican foyers to small performance areas in record stores and on street corners. With big name performers on the bill playing special commissions, collaborations and premieres, this well-attended festival is one of the best free festivals in London which attracts an eclectic blend of music lovers and jazz aficionados. Special shows for young people were introduced in 2005 including workshops and writing projects and are now a regular fixture at the festival and aim to attract more young people to the world of jazz music.
