Michelangeli Piano Festival,

The towns of Brescia and Bergamo, jointly host the Arturo Bendetti Michelangeli International Piano Festival. Established in 1964, this is one of the most important piano festivals in Europe and is dedicated to the great Brescian pianist after which it is named. A member of the Association Europeenne des Festivals of Geneva, its reputation is international and its programme packed with performances, not only by the best pianists in the world but also many of the world's major orchestras and conductors. Past performers have included the Israel Philharmonic, the Philharmonia Orchestra, Gewandhaus of Lipsia, Orchestre Nationale de France, Filarmonica della Scala, Lorin Maazel, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Riccardo Muti and Myung-Whun Chung.
