Foire du Trone,

Paris, France

01 Mar 2010 - 31 May 2010 Date to be confirmed

The Foire du Trone is one of the largest country fairs in France that attracts a staggering 5 million visitors each year. Its origins date back to 957 when merchants met with farmers and producers to trade grain and rice. Over its 1,000-year history, it has shifted venues, changed names and survived the French Revolution to become one of the biggest fairs in the French calendar. The modern day event incorporates a huge amusement park with arcades and rollercoasters as well as more traditional attractions such as a large Ferris Wheel and carousel rides. Despite its enormous popularity, it has managed to retain some of its yesteryear charm with acrobats, jugglers and fire-eaters completing the picture at this fun, family-orientated fair.
