The Abergavenny Food Festival has become an important date in Britain's gastronomic calendar. Attracting visitors seeking fine local produce like delicious Welsh black beef and succulent salt marsh lamb, the festival transforms the sleepy market town into a vibrant venue for the sampling of fine fare, the digesting of culinary tips from top chefs, and the quaffing of ales, wines and ciders. Entertainment, based in and around Abergavenny Castle, now includes live music and DJs.

Road: The M4 from London, the South-East and Home Counties; the A40 via the Cotswolds, Gloucester and Monmouth; The M6, M5, M50 and A40 from the North and Midlands, or through the Welsh Marches by way of the A449, A465 or A466
Bus: There are regular long-distance services to Newport connecting with National Welsh and Red and White services to Abergavenny
Rail: Abergavenny is served by train services on the Cardiff to Manchester line. Connections from London Paddington, Bristol and the south west of England are available at Newport. Connections from Birmingham are available at Hereford
