Isle of Wight Garlic Festival,

The Isle of Wight Garlic Festival takes place in August every year at the showground in the tiny village of Newchurch on the Isle of Wight. The first festival was organised in 1983, and the event has since grown to become one of the largest events on the island each year, second only to Cowes Week. No fewer than 25,000 people attend each year. The festival is a tasty and fun event offering a combination of late 1960s pop festival ambience, country fair and great garlic cuisine.

Where?

Newchurch Showground

The festival takes place in the village of Newchurch inland on the Isle of Wight, 6km (4 miles) from the towns of Ryde, Newport and Sandown in the fertile Arreton Valley. The Isle of Wight is 6km (4 miles) off the coast of Southern England, opposite the ports of Southampton and Portsmouth in the English Channel
