San Francisco's sizeable Irish community turns out en masse to celebrate St Patrick's Day with an annual parade that heads down Market Street towards the Civic Center Plaza. The streets are awash with colour as shops and homes are decorated in green and revellers don green costumes. Entertainment and attractions include live music, fiddlers, pipe bands, a craft fair, food and drink stalls and other cultural performances. The St Patrick's Day Parade is a great day out for all the family.
