Attracting an estimated 1 million visitors each year, Chicago's annual Christkindlmarket is a four-week open-air shopping market at the Daley Plaza in the downtown area of the city. In addition to the numerous stalls selling everything from speciality foods to handmade Christmas decorations, younger visitors can pay a visit to the Daley Plaza's Santa House to give Santa their Christmas wish-lists. Other children's attractions include lantern-making workshops, puppet shows and a traditional merry-go-round.
