The Holiday River Parade & Lighting Ceremony along San Antonio's famous River Walk is a spectacular event. At two minutes past seven on the Friday following Thanksgiving, around 122,000 twinkling lights start to shine and form a magical canopy over the river walk. They continue to shine brightly every evening through to 1 January. The lighting ceremony kicks off the Paseo Del Rio Holiday Festival as well as the spectacular one-hour parade along the river walk. The parade includes decorated, illuminated floats with celebrities, bands and lavishly-dressed participants. Over 150,000 people gather along the river walk to watch the spectacle.
