Each year the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's celebrate Japanese culture with the Cherry Blossom Festival. Held at a time when the blossom trees are in full bloom, the flowering trees provide a spectacular backdrop for the weekend event. Celebrations and attractions include traditional Japanese music and dance performances, taiko drumming, ikebana flower arranging, cooking demonstrations, tea ceremonies, craft demonstrations, workshops in tofu making and calligraphy art, displays of geta shoes and other arts from Inuyama, a kimono fashion show and workshops for both adults and children.
