On 4 July, 1776, America claimed its independence from Britain. The Fourth of July is one of the biggest holidays of the year and is celebrated in all manner of ways. Special organised events include pageants, parades, festivals, concerts, and - typically, spectacular fireworks displays. Numerous different events take place throughout Houston.
