21 May 2010

In many towns and villages across Cyprus, the name-days of saints are big occasions that merit equally big celebrations. Local churches and monasteries become a hive of activity on the eve of the saint's day with religious services and ceremonies taking place on the day itself. Agios Constantinos and Agia Eleni Day is celebrated in the villages of Deryneia and Tsada close to Paphos and the day is marked with a huge procession and a great feast.
