Chinese New Year,

Chinatown, United States

14 Feb 2010

Chinatown, on Manhattan's lower east side, bursts to life with one of its biggest parties of the year - the Chinese New Year celebrations. The event is celebrated by Chinese communities the world over, and New York's Chinatown joins the party with a loud and vibrant series of celebrations that includes traditional lion and dragon dances, costumed dancers, music, food and drink stalls and an almost endless cacophony of explosions from firecrackers.
