Easter Parade,

New York City, United States

01 Apr 2010 - 23 Apr 2010

A popular Easter tradition which takes place each Easter Sunday. New Yorkers flock to the area around Fifth Avenue from 49th to 57th Streets to see the wonderful displays of Easter bonnets and costumes. Beginning around 1000 in the morning, the streets throng with colour and excitement as participants parade with their elaborate bonnets that range from incredible floral displays to those harbouring live animals - this really is a spectacle that has to be seen to be believed. There are special Easter services at St Patrick's Cathedral on 50th Street and 5th Avenue, at St Thomas Church on 53rd Street and 5th Avenue and at the 5th Avenue Presbyterian Church.
