Newton Stewart Walk Fest,

Newton Stewart, United Kingdom

09 May 2008 - 15 May 2008

The small, attractive town of Newton Stewart makes an excellent base for walking in the lesser-known hills of Galloway. To introduce the area, the walking festival offers a range of organised group walks to suit the experienced walking enthusiast as well as the more modest hill stroller. A variety of routes has been designed for all standards, from the Newton Stewart Town Walk through such delights as Merrick via Buchan Ridge, the Minnigaff Hills, Knowe to Loch Trool, Knockman Wood, Water of Trool and the Lead Mines. There is even a walk for toddlers. Evenings provide the opportunity to relax over a sociable supper and an evening of traditional Scottish entertainment at the Indoor Bowling Centre.
