Although not as flamboyant as the Thanksgiving Day Celebrations in the US, St Lucia celebrates the old American custom in its own unique way with a series of parties and events. Celebrations take place in various places and particularly in the island's capital, Castries. Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday throughout St Lucia.
