Following on from the partying that takes place the night before, celebrations continue on New Year's Day with many of the larger towns holding some kind of event or special festival. Often with plenty of activities and entertainment for younger people, New Year's Day Celebrations are generally good family days out. New Year's Day and the following day are national holidays throughout St Lucia.
