Thanksgiving Day Parade,

Philadelphia, United States

27 Nov 2010

A huge celebration throughout the US, Philadelphia celebrates Thanksgiving with a parade that includes all the razzmatazz one would expect at an event such as this. For over three hours, visitors are entertained by a cast of costumed characters, dancers, floats and marching bands as they make their way along a route through the heart of the city. Dating back to 1920, the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade claims to be the nation's first and therefore the longest running parade of its kind in the country.
