01 Aug 2010 - 31 Aug 2010 Date to be confirmed

Turning politics into a party sounds like a neat trick, but it has a serious intent. This is all about giving people a glimpse of how government works. Each year, nearly 3,000 people attend events in the Scottish Parliament during the course of this three-day event. Highlights from previous programmes included the BBC's Andrew Marr examining the relationship between the media and democracy, stateswoman Shirley Williams discussing the changing face of British politics and Oscar-winning actress Vanessa Redgrave with her personal view on the importance of human rights. The dramatic architecture of the Parliament's Debating Chamber provides the setting for a concert and play while other venues within the Parliament complex play host to a series of debates and workshops, featuring representatives from academic and commercial organisations. The striking and controversial Parliament building is a major attraction in itself that draws thousands of visitors each year.
