31 Oct 2010

This is the country's biggest Halloween celebration and the only major one taking place at night. Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers take to the streets in amazing costumes to join about 50 bands, dancers and artists performing on the night. The crowd of spectators swells the numbers attending to over two million and the celebrations can be seen live on television. The event was created back in 1973 by a Greenwich Village mask maker and puppeteer and has become one of the Big Apple's best-loved traditions.
