San Francisco LGBT Pride,

San Francisco, United States

01 Jun 2010 - 30 Jun 2010 Date to be confirmed

One of the biggest, brashest and consequently best-known pride events in the world, it's fair to say that no one knows how to party quite like San Francisco's gay and lesbian community does. But the party is open for all to enjoy and all that the organisers ask is that partygoers bring an open mind and sense of humour to the occasion. Celebrations begin on the Saturday in the Civic Center but the real fun erupts on the Sunday with the main parade taking over the city's streets. The parade is a colourful affair that sees thousands of dancers, decorated floats, sound systems and merrymakers make their way along the procession route. Amongst the melee are the famous 'Dykes on Bikes' - an all female motorcycle group with many of the riders going topless or in biking leathers.

Times
Parade starts 1030.
