Held every year in honour of the country's servicemen and women, Fleet Week pays tribute with a series of military parades and activities. As part of the celebrations, visitors can see all manner of military displays in a series of sea- and air-based parades and exhibitions. Events stretch well beyond one week (the programme actually lasts for about five weeks) and also include parties, barbecues, sporting contests and the ever popular San Diego State University Fleet Week Football Classic .
