First held in 1976, Miami's Art Deco Weekend is run by the Miami Design Preservation League with the aim of promoting and preserving the city's Art Deco Historic District. Visitors during the Art Deco Weekend can expect to be taken back in time to the glory days of the art deco period (approximately 1920–1940) via a programme of live jazz music, street theatre, dancing, art exhibitions, lectures, films, parades, antiques and collectibles fair, food and much more.
