On 4 July, 1776, America claimed its independence from Britain. The Fourth of July is one of the biggest holidays of the year and is celebrated in all manner of ways. Special organised events include pageants, parades, festivals, concerts, and - typically, spectacular fireworks displays. Entertainment takes place all day at Baltimore's Inner Harbor with street performers, bands, a yacht parade and a fantastic fireworks display.
