International Green Week (IGW),

Berlin, Germany

01 Jan 2010 - 31 Jan 2010 Date to be confirmed

Green in terms of vegetables, rather more than environmental issues, IGW has, since 1926, led the way as a forum for the widest range of food producers. The exhibition represents agricultural and horticultural as well as manufactured food producers and many of them use the event as a first-time market trial for their goods. Arranged around national, regional or product themes, the stands feature fresh food, fish, meats, and dairy products together with a vast selection of international wine, beer, and spirits specialties. In tune with consumer trends, the IGW also includes direct-from-the-grower sales and an organic 'Bio Markt' section. The fair, which often attracts some 440,000 visitors, includes agriculture, forestry and landscaping exhibits. Each year features a new theme. There are strong ties to the developing markets in Eastern Europe here, as well as many other opportunities for business.
