Running through the heart of the city, the Brisbane River is an integral part of Brisbane's identity. Each year the Riverfestival celebrates this fact with a 10-day programme of entertainment, exhibitions and events. Taking place in various locations around the city, the festival includes everything from live music and theatre to art exhibitions and sporting events. The festivities get underway on the opening night with 'Riverfire' – a spectacular fireworks display over the river.
