First held in 1995, Vilnius' annual film festival invites audiences to watch screenings by some of the greatest independent filmmakers in the world. The aim is to introduce Lithuanian filmgoers to a greater selection of films beyond the Hollywood mainstream. Every year, the event features a retrospective on one cinematic icon, with past festivals dedicated to the works of Pier Paolo Pasolini and Francois Truffaut.
