New Year's Eve Party,

Each year Sydney welcomes in the New Year with a spectacular party at the famous Sydney Harbour. With live music, theatre, street entertainers, special cruisers, food and drink stalls and fireworks, this is one of the most famous New Year parties in the world which is televised across Australia and around the world. The fun gets underway in the afternoon with the firing of the Harbour canon on Fort Dennison at 1300; it is fired again every hour, on the hour through until midnight. Other events include the 2100 'Family Fireworks and the Harbour of Light Parade', the 2300 'Warming Up of the Bridge', and as the grand finale, the world-renowned 'Midnight Fireworks' spectacular. Attracting an estimated 1 million revellers each year, the harbour throbs with activity as the celebrations continue well into the small hours.
