Nobel Prize Awards Ceremony, 

Stockholm, Sweden

Each year the Nobel Prize is awarded to people who have completed outstanding research, invented groundbreaking techniques or equipment, or made outstanding contributions to society. The Nobel Prizes are generally awarded in several different categories for achievements in the sciences and literature and recipients receive a medal, a diploma and a sum of money in recognition of their work. The ceremony is a prestigious affair which is held in Stockholm's beautiful Concert Hall. The awards are part of the Swede Alfred Nobel's will in which he left the bulk of his considerable estate to set up the prize.
