Echo Walking Festival, 

Tauranga, New Zealand

The Echo festival has been designed to give local and visiting ramblers a structure in which to sample the scenic delights of the Southern Coromandel Peninsula. The walks attract people into the region and introduce them to the countryside, the businesses and attractions on offer in this stunning location. Within this scenic corner of North Island are such standout features as the magnificent Karangahake Gorge, Wairongomai, the Kaimai Ranges and Waihi Beach. Leaflets with details of all walks, including guided and self-guided, are obtainable from. participating Information Centres.

Festival is based in four towns: Paeroa, Waihi, Te Aroha and Katikati; walks in their respective hinterlands

Getting There

Road: The principal city of Tauranga is approximately 200km (125 miles) southeast of Auckland.

Most walks are free.
