First Day of Summer,

Iceland

21 Apr 2011

For a country that spends months in almost total darkness during the winter, the arrival of summer and the light nights (and days) is something to be celebrated. After hibernating for so many months, the national holiday is used as a day to enjoy the great outdoors and many bigger towns and cities hold parades and street parties with live music and entertainment.

Times
All day.
