Great Northern Arts Festival,

Inuvik, Canada

01 Jul 2010 - 31 Jul 2010 Date to be confirmed

In the extreme north of the Canadian mainland, this festival is noteworthy as much for its location as its content – a visit here will be an unforgettable experience. It was first held in 1989 and has grown steadily every year since. The festival attracts musicians from the full spectrum of northern cultures; aboriginal and non-aboriginal artists come together to compare different styles of work and learn new techniques. Outside visitors arrive from several countries besides Canada: The United States, Japan, Germany, Denmark and Australia have all been represented in recent years.
