Fete de la Musique,

Paris, France

01 Jun 2010 - 30 Jun 2010 Date to be confirmed

The Fete de la Musique (Festival of Music) is a nationwide event, although most of the major performances are held in Paris. The city's huge variety of venues provides an excellent opportunity to sample a range of musical styles from classical to reggae. Some of the main events take place in the open-air in Place de la Bastille, the Hotel des Invalides, Place de la Republique and Parc de la Villette. But music is played throughout the city in parks, bars, restaurants, cafes and even some of the Metro (underground) stations, so it is best to wander the city and soak up the fantastic festival atmosphere.
