Big Valley Jamboree,

Canada's biggest country music extravaganza, the Big Valley Jamboree, is also a family occasion and a sociable four-day party. Concert-goers from around the globe gather at the 162ha (400 acre) mini village that springs up each year at Camrose, Alberta. Some of the best country music artists play on the main stage from morning until night in a laidback, friendly atmosphere. Trade shows offer all kinds of merchandise and there is a host of entertainments with bull riding topping the bill. Other distractions include the Family Stage, Songwriter's Workshop, casino, gospel jamboree, the fabulous Kick-Off Party and a big parade. On-site camping is available, subject to availability and strict controls.

Getting There

Road: From Calgary, follow the Queen Elizabeth II Highway north to Highway 13; Highway 13 east into Camrose (approximate journey time 2.5 hours). From Edmonton, follow Queen Elizabeth II Highway south to Highway 13; Highway 13 east into Camrose (approximate journey time 1 hour)
