Each January the exquisite Bastide Saint-Antoine hotel in Grasse on the Cote d'Azur hosts a popular Truffle Market. Food connoisseurs from all over Provence and visitors alike come to buy the precious mushrooms known to some as “black gold”. Those lucky enough to have reserved a table at the Michelin-starred restaurant can also enjoy a menu devised by the esteemed chef, Jacques Chibois. Visitors can watch how a truffle dog is trained and there is also a range of other fresh produce for sale including fruit, cheese, preserves and vegetables.
