Festival Livre & Mer,

Dedicated to books and writing with a maritime theme, this fun festival attracts literary enthusiasts and writers from all over the world. The event features a book fair, readings, poetry recitals, guest speakers and a number of writing workshops. The festival works closely with schools in the area and young people are encouraged to participate and get involved with the event. The honorary president of the festival is Jean-Jules Verne, the great-grandson of the famous author Jules Verne, whose most-famous works include 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea' (1870) and 'Around the World in Eighty Days' (1873).
