Christmas Market,

Ulm, Germany

Ulm, on the River Danube, boasts a cathedral with the tallest spire in the world. Known as the Munster, the spectacular cathedral provides the backdrop for the city's Christmas market. There are more than 100 stalls with festive decorations, a glass workshop and a sheepfold with real sheep. With the atmospheric lighting, the carol concerts and the mulled wine, the stage is set for a really traditional Christmas. Inside the cathedral, organ recitals take place each evening at 1700.
