Christmas Market,

Würzburg, Germany

27 Nov 2010 - 18 Dec 2010 Date to be confirmed

Wurzburg's traditional Christmas Market has a long history that stretches back several centuries. Viewed as one of the most atmospheric in Germany, the Wurzburg Christmas Market consists of beautifully decorated wooden booths illuminated by the soft glow of Christmas lighting. Here in the old capital of the Prince Bishops, buildings such as the gothic chapel of Saint Mary's, the rococo mansion of Falkenhaus and the historic courtyard of the Town Hall provide a wonderful setting for a terrific seasonal display. Christmas trimmings include an artists' market, regional cuisine and mulled wine. A programme of festive events includes regular nativity plays, carol singing and musical performances.
