During the first weekend of September, the official newspaper of the Portuguese Communist Party, Avante, hosts a festival to which people of all political backgrounds are invited. Taking place every year since 1976, this is a party for the people which includes live music, great food, a book and music fair, theatre, live speakers and plenty of dancing. If only politics was always this much fun.
