Hong Kong Marathon -
01 Feb 2010 - 28 Feb 2010 Date to be confirmed

First held in 1997 with just 1,000 runners, the annual Hong Kong Marathon has grown to become the biggest event of its kind in the region and now attracts in excess of the 30,000 participants. A great atmosphere prevails with supporters lining the route to cheer on the runners. The event is open in men's and women's classes and there is also the option to take on the shorter half marathon or 10km (6.2 miles) run. Since 2005, the event has been a part of the 'Greatest Race on Earth' programme - a series of four marathons taking place in Nairobi, Singapore and Mumbai before finishing off the series with this race through the streets of cosmopolitan Hong Kong.
