24 Nov 2010 - 20 Dec 2010

This traditional Christmas market boasts the city's magnificent gothic cathedral as its backdrop. And in addition to spectacular light displays, the market's showpiece is the giant Christmas tree. Visitors can weave their way through a maze of red-roofed stalls to see marzipan being made, as well as jewellery makers and other craftsmen and women at work. A wide choice of local produce and novelty items is on offer, including 'spekulatius' (thin spiced biscuits), and candles and soaps made in the shape of the cathedral. And, as with all good Christmas markets, visitors can take a break from the shopping to enjoy a glass of traditional warm mulled punch.
