Bayreuth is a cultural city famous for its associations with Wagner. Each Easter it stages a festival with concerts by the International Young Orchestra Academy and others. With a symphony orchestra, jazz ensemble and lounge and chamber music orchestras, everything is on offer from classics to jazz, played at matinees as well as evening performances. There are concert halls throughout the town but the showpiece Markgravial Opera House is the main focus for the festival.
