Each year Hong Kong hosts the popular Rugby Sevens tournament, which generates huge excitement in the city. The 24 competing teams are drawn into six groups with four teams in each group. Games last for just 14 minutes, guaranteeing explosive action as each team plays in a bid to find out who will progress to the finals. The final day is always the most popular as teams play rough and tough in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and ultimately the final. A great carnival vibe surrounds the competition and many rugby sevens fans travel from all over the world to soak up the atmosphere.
